As a host of happy conferees can tell you, it’s fun to sing, dance and learn with
Wendy Rollin, The Piano Lady. Her workshops are high-spirited, inspirational and interactive. But beyond entertainment, each and every session has a significant mission.
With
teachchildrenmusic.com, Wendy Rollin has created an enriching, entertaining and accessible music program that can be used to great effect by teachers, librarians, families . . .
and all who teach children.
Wendy introduces excellent materials and methods for including music, in many applications, throughout a curriculum. Her program, in its entirety, covers the spectrum of music for young children — early elementary grades, kindergarten and preschool. It is an original and comprehensive program, including:
*Sing Along – Dance Along – and Play Along!
*Musical Games and Activities
*The KIDS MEET COMPOSERS Project
*Holiday songs that welcome all children – plus a multicultural segment
*An Introduction to Instruments and Sections of the Orchestra
*Music Concepts and Music Appreciation
*A song for stopping fights –featuring Amercian Sign Language
*Entertaining story songs
*A whole new world of self-expression and harmony with others
Workshop attendees will cha-cha, samba, cancan, and do the funny-bunny. They’ll meet great composers, with the
Kids Meet Composers project, featuring excerpts from masterworks, composer games and skits, and the delightful illustrations of renowned artist Chris Demarest (Scholastic, Simon and Schuster). Attendees will be introduced to music concepts. They’ll learn an anthem for young voices in five languages. They’ll sing songs with themes that truly speak to children, discover happy holiday songs that welcome all families . . . and more. There will be an exploration of Piano Lady Principles for making music with children and Wendy Rollin’s “art of playful pedagogy.”
Wendy Rollin’s presentations and workshops are customized to highlight various aspects of her program, as per the needs and interests of the specific audience.Whatever their individual areas of emphasis,
conferees will return to their classrooms with great new things to teach and resources to tap. Musically enriched, they can share with their students mini-music lessons presented at Wendy’s session. Musically inspired, they will be better able to employ Music as the truly transformative force it is . . . helping children more fully discover Music, their friend.
